The Ecotourism Foundations Program is a modular learning experience designed to introduce participants to the principles and practice of ecotourism, sustainability, and conservation.
The program combines academic learning with real-world experience in nature and community landscapes. Participants begin with structured online learning and later apply their knowledge during field immersions in India’s conservation regions.
This approach allows learners to understand how tourism, conservation, and local livelihoods intersect — and how responsible tourism can support both people and ecosystems.
Certification
Participants who complete the program will receive a certificate recognizing their participation in both the academic and field components of the program.
MAY 20-OCTOBER 01: ONLINE
Participants attend weekly online sessions introducing the foundations of ecotourism.
Topics include:
- Principles of ecotouris
- Ecology and conservation basics
- Responsible wildlife touris
- Community-based tourism
- Sustainability in tourism planning
Sessions include lectures, discussions, readings, and applied assignments.
Fee for Online Component:
₹15,000 + applicable taxes

OCTOBER-NOVEMBER: FIELD IMMERSION
Participants will take part in field visits within conservation landscapes.
Field learning may take place before or after the Global Wildlife Fair, with final dates confirmed closer to the program period.
Locations may include designated ecotourism regions in India.
The field experience includes:
- Visits to wildlife and conservation areas
- Interaction with local communities
- Learning about community tourism initiatives
- Practical exposure to conservation and sustainable tourism practices
Field visit costs will start from ₹30,000 and above, depending on:
- Number of days
- Field location and region
- Accommodation and logistics
